After gathering Research

..So it has been a couple weeks since i had started gathering research about puppy mills. As i started to pay more attention to articles that had to do with animal rights, I came upon PROPOSITION 2. This is a proposition for the 2008/2009 election that would require farmers to have pins for chickens, cows, and pigs big enough to where they can be comfortable and stand and sit in. It would also eliminate three cruelty abuses that they have to endure. I completely agree with Prop 2 and i hope it passes. I'd rather pay a buck more for an egg knowing that the animal was taken caren of before it hatched the egg or was slaughtered. Can people seriously look themselves in the mirror knowing they aren't doing anything to better human species? So answer me this... IF WE ARE TRYING TO GET A PROPOSITON TO PASS ABOUT THE ANIMALS THAT WE EAT, WHY AREN'T WE GETTING A PROPOSITION TO END PUPPY MILLS OR AT LEAST PROMOTE THE WELL BEING IN MILLS, after all puppies are our pets?

Well, in my opinion dogs are our pets and chickens and cows are our food. I have never really been one fond of keeping an intimate relationship with our meals. I could never work on a farm! Seriously every time I ate a meal, I would think "is that my cow? or my pig?" it would trip me out! I have a "Babe" complex. LOL

Good luck with the research on puppy mills! That is tough! I am not going to lie. ick.

Hope Prop 2 helps as research for your paper babe

The Dark Side of Immigration

Illegal Immigration is one topic that contains good qualities and bad qualities. Immigration allows for culture diversity, a whole new chance for the immigrants, and even take jobs that Americans refuse to do. The bad qualities consist of minor problems and contribute to some of the National Crisis. There are such problems as drugs, gangs, and sex offenders, developing the idea of their own culture in our country. As a man that looks at these problems from an emotional point of view, I feel that they out weigh the positives of immigration. The United States is facing a possible loss of their culture, drug smuggling, gangs, and an increase in population. These problems are caused by illegal immigration or greatly influenced upon. Illegal Immigrants strongly contribute or cause the problems in the United States. However the problems work as a chain and in unison with each other. Gangs smuggle drugs over into the United States, where other gangs buy them. Many of these serious crimes being committed are by these gangs, who are highly made up of illegal immigrants. As of 2005, Operation Community Shield has labeled fourteen hundred illegal immigrant gang members. These numbers are staggering are still climbing because of the over population that the United States is facing. These problems all intertwine and influence each other. These are problems that some Americans are ignoring and feel that should not be dealt with. Well as an American, I feel that they need to be dealt with and solved right away and as quickly as possible. Illegal Immigration is a dangerous issue and very controversial and I have taken a side.
Illegal Immigration comes with many problems but one of the most dangerous problems is Drugs. They are smuggled over by the illegal immigrants and sold out to gangs. There is a huge drug trafficking problem that we Americans all know of. However, Americans don’t know that they are coming over through these illegal immigrants. “Specifically in regard to drugs, according to counter-drug officials, an estimated 75% of all cocaine and 40% of all heroine that reaches the streets of America was smuggled through Mexico.” According to this article on the web, it states that most of the drug problem is coming through Mexico where most of our Illegal Immigrants come from. These drugs affect the innocent as well. The young kids throughout or school pressured to try drugs and some of them is originated in Mexico. The drug lords in Mexico are relentless and will do anything to get their drugs to their costumers. These powerful drug lords have the ability to send their dangerous drugs by Boeing Aircrafts and large container ships. The NAFTA agreement allows Mexican trucker free access to America’s borders. This allows the drug lords to use their influence on these Mexican truckers to carry drugs over with them. These drugs are highly dangerous as well and are overdosed by the drug users in the United States. Now here is where we go back into the idea of intertwining the problems within Illegal Immigration. It becomes a crime to sell illegal drugs and these drug users will do anything to get the drugs they highly desire. These drug lords have influence over their country’s government and continue to get away with the huge drug trafficking crisis. Drugs however are looked upon as bad and a terrible burden in our country. And in their crumpling society, these Mexican drug lords look at it as a money-making business. Drugs are a problem in our country because of its effects on people, how it is obtained, and the fact that people die over drugs. This not the only problem that America must take on when it come to Illegal Immigration.
In the end most of the problems that involve Illegal Immigration will come down to Gangs. Gangs are a huge problem that has been around for generations. They have grown and are continuously growing. They recruit many illegal Immigrants to join their gangs. One of the most notorious gangs known is called the Mara Salvartrucha or MS-13. According to an article in the Washington Times article, “The violent MS-13 - or Mara Salvatrucha - street gang is following the migratory routes of illegal aliens across the country, FBI officials say, calling the Salvadoran gang the new American mafia. MS-13, has a significant presence in the Washington area, and other gangs are spreading into small towns and suburbs by following illegal aliens seeking work in places…” Now these gangs recruit illegal immigrants who are down on their luck and are trying to find work. These men are vulnerable and are desperate to be part of something. They are looking for any form of money and these gangs can provide them with money and even power. These men are dangerous and are not afraid to kill. Gangs also carry their own problems, which intertwine back onto other crimes. These gangs are willing to recruit any person into their gang that is willing to do what they need them to do. They recruit illegal immigrants, sex offenders, murders, and even thieves. According to a statistic, “Nationally, Hispanics are thought to comprise 49 percent of total gang membership.” In the same article where this stat was found, a Deputy stated that, “There is an increasing gang activity problem, particularly with MS-13 and studies have shown that the majority of those gang members are illegal aliens.” These gangs are made up of illegal immigrants and that is a huge problem because of the damage these gangs cause on families and cities. These gangs are dangerous and have a huge affect on society. We as Americans look down upon gangsters now. We look at them as scum, so when these rappers come out with something new, people look at their image and instead of looking at their lyrics. Gangs are highly looked down upon and in our current society we feel that they should be exterminated because of all the crimes and conspiracies. Gangs are highly powerful and now are beginning to make themselves power influences in our country.
Illegal immigration has become a drug trafficking and gang recruiting idea of life. Illegal Immigration has taken the face of so many different things and has developed its own way of thinking. We as Americans have not made an exact solution to put a stop to this epidemic. It is a disease that cannot be stopped by mere laws that only slow down the process. Illegal Immigrants have found multiple ways around the system that we have created. The system is flawed and it has been broken down to a weaker and porous form. Gangs still are around and have been recruiting men and women into their gangs. Many of these gang members are part of cultural gangs, meaning that they are all the same race. They even control the drug trafficking in some areas. Illegal immigrants bring over foreign substances which drug using Americans will buy and abuse and eventually die from. All of these problem we are faced with and we still have not found a solution sufficient enough to stop any of them. It may seem that we are stuck with these problems forever.
There is another side to this controversial argument, and that happens to be, not all illegal immigrants cause problems. This is highly true and they seem to be quite helpful in our society. They take jobs that Americans refuse to do, which keeps the economy afloat. Another great counter argument is that not all drugs and gangs consist of illegal immigrants. Many of the drugs are homemade in America or even American produced. And when gangs come to mind everyone thinks Mexicans. However, there are such gangs like the KKK, where they are all white. These counter arguments are merely covered by a person who is against illegal immigration.
Illegal Immigration is highly recognized in our country as a problem that needs to be fixed and fast. Gangs and drugs are the two main problems that come with Illegal Immigration. There is still, over population, sex offenders, thieves, identity theft, and countless more. Illegal immigration needs to be looked at from the eyes of an ordinary citizen who has seen the Dark Side of Illegal Immigration. These politicians may want to stop it but are trying to merely slow it down. That is not the way this method should be done, but I still have to investigate for myself on what a possible solution may be. Many questions are being asked for a possible solution. Stronger Border Patrol? More Border Patrol? Stricter Laws? Army and National Guard Involvement? Maybe even all of these may do the job. But for now we do not know how to stop this crisis. Do not listen to anybody else but yourself and look through yours eyes instead of someone else’s. You just might get a clearer perspective.
